In April 2013, the All England Club confirmed its intention to build a retractable roof over No.1 Court. This was part of its Master Plan to substantially improving the quality of the Wimbledon experience for all the main audiences and thereby maintain its reputation as the world’s premier tennis event. The roof is expected to be in place for the 2019 Championships.
FloControl got involved at an early stage, working with the ME design consultant on potential solutions for heating and cooling applications for AHU’s as well as the hospitality suites.
FloControl supplied the FCU valve sets, ABV EOL Bypass valve sets and large FlowCon Green.3, SM.3.1 and SM5.1 PICVs up to a 50mm diameter for the Air Handling Units. In close collaboration with the design consultant, an energy efficient, cost effective approach based on distribution manifolds was conceived to control the temperature in the hospitality suites.
FloControl sourced the components from its supplier network, configured the bilateral 2-6 port distribution manifolds with FlowCon PICVs, shut off ball valves and commissioning valves to suit the various locations.
